Winery

Georg Frischengruber

The Frischengruber winery is picturesquely located in the heart of the Wachau, in Rossatz, on the right bank of the Danube. For 150 years, the winery has been synonymous with excellent winemaking and tradition. The history of the winery begins with Heinz, the great-grandfather, who once cultivated wine on nearly 3 hectares of land and carved 14 terraces into the Goldberg. His efforts laid the foundation for today's success story.

A decisive turning point came in 2011, when Georg Frischengruber took over the winery and literally opened it. He introduced new ideas and a new philosophy that modernised the winery and made it known far beyond the borders of Wachau. Today, Georg manages 14 hectares and looks after each vine with great care and respect for nature. Since 2023, Georg Frischengruber has also been certified organic, further emphasizing his commitment to sustainability and environmentally conscious winemaking.

His passion for viticulture and sustainable practices distinguishes the winery. Every Frischengruber wine reflects his dedication and connection to nature. Georg successfully combines tradition and innovation, making his winery a shining example of excellent, environmentally conscious winemaking.
